Portland Oregon - Measured interior reverberation
factors in two jail dorms, researched potential noise
reducing mitigation measures. Recommended acoustic paneling
and assisted with technical specifications requirements
for materials.
Eagle Mountain Landfill and Recycling
Center, Eagle Mountain California - Performed
a technical noise analysis for the proposed conversion
of the Eagle Mountain Mine to a Landfill and recycling
center. Methods of transferring waste to the site include
using truck and rail along established routes. Performed
analysis of noise increases due to increased truck traffic
rail noise, and operational noise associated with the
facility.
Hall-Buck Marine Grain Terminal,
Portland Oregon - Performed noise and vibration
analysis for the proposed grain transfer terminal. Analyzed
potential noise impacts due to terminal operation and
made recommendations for noise mitigation. Predicted
noise levels for system operations, including rail operations,
rail squeak on tight radius corners, locomotive and
car coupling, and car dumping operations. Assisted in
the design of an insulated rail car dumping structure.
Performed acoustic analysis on other noise sources related
to the project, such as conveyors, loaders, and miscellaneous
pumps and motors.
Alaska - Juneau Mine, Echo Bay Mining,
Juneau Alaska - Performed a noise technical study
for a gold mining operations. Measured existing noise
environment near the proposed mine and at nearby noise
sensitive receptors. Prepared an existing conditions
noise technical report as part of an Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA) review of the proposed operations.
Installation of Sewer Pipe for the
Tanner Creek Project, City of Portland, Portland, Oregon
- Performed a technical noise analysis for construction
related impacts due to the installation of a sewer pipe
along a busy arterial. Considered construction activities
during evening and nighttime hours for reduced traffic
impacts.
Manufactured Home Insulation Testing,
Delta Management Company, Vancouver Washington
- Performed noise certification testing for a proposed
manufactured home park located near Portland International
Airport. Calculated sound transmission factor and indoor
Ldn.
Browning Rifle Noise Testing
- Performed noise testing under field conditions for
a Browning rifle. Compared noise levels from several
positions around subject, compared against previous
epidemiological studies and data for similar weapons.
McKay Lodge Noise Study and Analysis
for WBGS Architects, Eugene Oregon - Performed
noise certification analysis for the Mckay Lodge in
Eugene Oregon. Recommended noise reducing materials
for the walls and ceiling of the proposed structure.
Interstate 90 Corporate Park Development,
Issaquah, Washington - Performed a noise analysis
in accordance with the King County Noise Ordinances
for the proposed corporate and retail park in Issaquah,
Washington. Performed traffic noise analysis for Interstate
90, State Route 900 and other surrounding roads due
to increased traffic from operation of the corporate
park.
Evergreen Master Plan Housing Development,
City of Davis, California - Performed noise analysis
for proposed housing development in the city of Davis,
California. Analysis included potential noise impacts
due to nearby highways and increased traffic from the
development. Designed noise barriers to assure the proposed
development would meet City of Davis noise regulations.
INTEL Corporation, Hillsboro, Oregon
- Completed calibration of a semi-anechoic chamber in
accordance with American National Standards Institute
(ANSI) standard S1.34-1980, Sound Power Levels of Noise
Sources for Free-Field Conditions Over a Reflecting
Plane.
West Point Secondary Sewage Treatment
Facility, Seattle, Washington - Prepared noise
mitigation plan during construction and operation of
the facility. The plan included truck haul route transportation
noise mitigation, general construction noise mitigation,
and start-up operation mitigation.
Chang Bing Industrial Park, Chang
Bing, Taiwan - Conducted noise analysis and review
of existing data. Assisted in finalizing master noise
control plan with sub-consultants.
Hewlett Packard Manufacturing Facility,
Boise, Idaho - Performed acoustic analysis of
noise for production line and determined potential impact
on adjacent office area. Designed noise reducing partitions
and barriers to reduce the noise levels in both the
office area and near the production line.
Union Pacific Railroad, Long Beach,
California - Performed detailed noise analysis
for the placement of acoustic noise barriers. Designed
a custom software package to analyze noise levels due
to train traffic based on the Wyle Laboratories Railway
Noise Prediction Model.
Barrow Elementary School, Barrow,
Alaska - Performed noise analysis of heating
ventilation and air conditioning system. Recommended
noise silencers and ducting relocation to reduce noise
levels in the library and classrooms.
Scott Paper Cogeneration Facility,
Everett, Washington - Performed noise analysis
for the installation of a proposed Cogeneration Facility
at the Everett Scott Paper Plant. Projected Noise levels
due to construction, installation and operation of the
proposed facility and suggested appropriate mitigation
measures where impacts were discovered.
Hawaii Electric, Honolulu, Hawaii
- Performed a noise analysis for the proposed installation
of a diesel-fired power generation facility at Kona,
Hawaii. Performed on-site noise measurements to determine
ambient noise levels in their immediate area. Predicted
noise level impacts due to the construction and operation
of the proposed facility and suggested mitigation in
the form of silencers and acoustic housing where needed.
Fort Knox Mining, Fairbanks, Alaska
- Performed a noise technical study for proposed open
pit gold mining operations 10 miles outside Fairbanks.
Measured existing noise environment near the proposed
mine and at nearby noise sensitive receptors. Calculated
noise levels for normal mining operations, including
heavy machinery operation, blasting, and auxiliary equipment.
Recommendation mitigation measures where necessary.
