Mass Transit

Seattle - Everett Commuter Rail Project, Seattle Washington - Task manager for noise and vibration analysis of commuter rail traffic on a 30 mile corridor of existing freight train track. Responsible for measuring and analyzing existing noise and vibration conditions, measuring vibration propagation characteristics, and predicting potential noise and vibration impacts due to the added use of the corridor for commuter rail traffic. Will also analyze potential impacts near seven proposed transit stations for traffic noise impacts. Responsible for writing noise and vibration results report, interfacing with client, and attending public meetings.

Lane County Transit District Rapid Transit Corridor, Eugene Oregon - Task manager for noise and vibration analysis of proposed rapid bus transit corridor. Analysis requirements include predicting potential noise impacts due to added bus only transit lanes, park and rides associated with the transit corridor, public meetings, interfacing with the client, and authoring noise technical report.

Portland Interstate Light Rail Project - Task manager for noise and vibration analysis on a local service light rail corridor between the Portland Rose Quarter and the Portland Expo Center. Analysis includes the calculation of future conditions for each of the alternative track alignments. Responsible for authoring noise and vibration results report, interfacing with client, establishing a noise and vibration focus groups and attending public meetings.

Seattle Light Rail Project, Seattle Washington - Task manager for noise and vibration analysis on a 20 mile corridor of proposed light rail track. Responsible for measuring and analyzing existing noise and vibration conditions, measuring vibration propagation characteristics, and predicting potential noise and vibration impacts. This project also includes approximately 7 miles of LRT alignment in tunnel and the use of an existing bus tunnel in the downtown Seattle area. Will also analyze potential impacts near proposed transit stations for traffic noise impacts, and analyze potential impacts due to added bus routes that are part of the project. Responsible for co-authoring noise and vibration results report, interfacing with client, establishing a noise and vibration focus group and attending public meetings.

Tacoma Light Rail Project, Tacoma Washington - Task manager for noise and vibration analysis on a 5 mile corridor of proposed light rail track. Responsible for measuring and analyzing existing noise and vibration conditions, measuring vibration propagation characteristics, and predicting potential noise and vibration impacts. Will also analyze potential impacts near proposed transit stations for traffic noise impacts, and analyze potential impacts due to added bus routes that are part of the project. Responsible for co-authoring noise and vibration results report and interfacing with client.

Tacoma - Lakewood Commuter Rail Project, Tacoma Washington - Task manager for noise and vibration analysis on a 15 mile corridor of existing freight train track. Responsible for measuring and analyzing existing noise and vibration conditions, measuring vibration propagation characteristics, and predicting potential noise and vibration impacts due to the added use of the corridor for commuter rail traffic. Will also analyze potential impacts near proposed transit stations for traffic noise impacts. Responsible for writing noise and vibration results report, interfacing with client, and attending public meetings.

Seattle Monorail Project Review - Reviewed the Seattle Monorail EIS and noise and vibration technical reports for details on methodogoly and analysis. Made recomendations and comments on analysis methods, interpration of FTA criteria and comments on NEPA - SEPA conformity. Found several issues that could results in future problems and made recomendations for corrections to report and EIS.

Metro North/South Light Rail Environmental Impact Statement Noise Technical Report, Portland, Oregon - Task manager for noise and vibration analysis on a 20 mile corridor of proposed light rail track. Measured existing condition noise and vibration levels along over 20 miles of proposed track alignments between Vancouver, Washington, and Clackamas, Oregon. Analysis includes the calculation of future conditions for each of the alternative track alignments and a no-build scenario. Derived a noise impact cost effectiveness criteria for the project, interfaced with client, and co-authored noise and vibration technical results report.

Lane County Transit District Bus Transfer Station, Eugene, Oregon - Performed noise study for environmental assessment of a new transit center in Eugene Oregon. Calculated potential noise impacts due to the relocation of bus transfer centers to a unified location in downtown Eugene area. Performed indoor and outdoor noise measurements of a nearby retirement center and suggested mitigation measures that included upgrading the retirement facility and/or installation of acoustic absorbing material at the transfer center.

Lane County Transit District Operational and Maintenance Facility Expansion, Eugene Oregon - Task manager for noise analysis of a major expansion to the existing O&M facility in Eugene Oregon. Measured 24 - hour noise levels, predicted future noise levels with expansion, and authored noise technical report.

Construction of the Hillsboro Extension for the Portland Light Rail System, Hillsboro Oregon - Performed noise analysis for the installation of new bridges and track bed on the six mile Hillsboro Light Rail extension. Met with officials from the Oregon Primate Research Center and arranged detailed noise and vibration monitoring near the research facility.

Construction of Tri-Met Light Rail Tunnel, Portland Oregon - Performed construction noise abatement on the construction of two 3-mile light rail tunnels. Performed noise mitigation due to surface and tunnel blasting on the first mile of each tunnel. Other noise services included miscellaneous construction and mining equipment, including a 21 foot diameter hard rock tunnel boring machine , shown below.

Lane County Transit Park and Ride, Springfield Oregon - Performed noise study for the environmental impact statement for the addition of a Park and Ride facility for the East Side of Springfield, Oregon. Performed transit related and traffic noise analysis in accordance with FTA and ODOT regulations.

Construction of the Lane County Transit Bus Transfer Station, Eugene, Oregon - Derived a construction noise impact criteria for the construction of the Downtown Eugene Bus Transfer Center. Recommenced maximum noise levels and work hours for the project such that they would not interfere with the operation of a movie theater and a retirement facility.
